I paint, draw and sew on, in and with paper, because I like to listen to the paper. It arises a personal creation. It puts no limits to the imagination.
Don’t underestimate influence that paper exercises on the creation of a piece of work. It’s a game of beginning and beginning over again.
It’s a challenge: the search for the combination techniques and their possibilities.
Paper felt was created while experimenting of felting with newspapers.
For years now, I’ve been collecting newspapers as a souvenir of my trips.
The layering of the paper creates vulnerable matter. At the same time it creates a search for the visual image. The image-forming can be a memory from the past, that is finally put on paper with paint, pencil or thread and transforms to an image from the present.

I’ve always being intrigued by news papers and now especially by the papers of ‘De Tijd’ because of its beautiful color.
I knot, bundle and process the papers to create wire shaped structures. I compose them to fragile objects.

The works ‘Iconoclasme’ refer to the breaking of the in all times, here especially the decapition of the statue.

Ik verknoop, bundel en verwerk de kranten om draadvormige structuren te creëren. Ik componeer ze tot fragiele objecten.
Als je goed kijkt, ontwaar je hier en daar nog een letter of een stukje woord.
De werken ‘Iconoclasme’ verwijzen naar het breken van het beeld in alle tijden, hier specifiek het onthoofden van het beeld.
